Things to do after the bar:

1. Spend one whole day at the spa.
2. Paint my toenails pink and silver. (Is that weird?)
4. Spend one whole day cooking new dishes (This is definitely weird).
5. Spend one whole weekday at the beach.
6. Spend one whole day shopping.
7. Go to an amusement park and ride roller coasters!!!

yay!

It's been awhile since any events worthy of note have occurred.

1. The first of my close friends got married last weekend.
2. I found out that one of my law school friends only has 6 months to one year left to live.

It's so weird to experience these two events so close together - the beginning of a union, the ending of a life.  That really makes a person think.  Especially when you hear someone say, "Hey, 6 months is actually a really long time."

I have spent so much time trying to escape the work and struggles that come with life, sitting in front of the tv, watching other people's lives so that I can ignore my own.  I don't think I can ever stop doing those things completely, but there is one thing...  For my friend's sake, no more complaining about life from me.

I have a question.

When I'm at work and nobody gives me any work to do, should I feel guilty for not doing anything?

It's kind of weird working for my parents.  Since I'm the one who writes in how many hours I've worked, I feel like I'm on some honor code.  It sucks!! I used to write 3 hours even though I'd sit in the office for 5 because I'd feel guilty about not doing anything productive.  Then I realized, is it not my boss's job to give me work?  But no, I cannot do it.  I will continue to write how many hours I really worked because I cannot separate good-daughter mindset from lazy-worker mindset.  Bah humbug.

I was reading my last entry and thought maybe everyone would think I'm crazy for getting a kick out of watching a turtle eat lettuce.  I feel I should explain.  First off, they open their mouths REALLY wide and then chomp down.  It's so damn cute.  Second, I can't figure out what they do with the lettuce after it's in their mouths.  They don't have any teeth!!! Do they?  Third, I can't figure out how they eat soooooooooooooo slowly.  It's like I get to watch history happening, they eat so slow.  Well, that's all... I can't really explain why I'm such a freak.  But seriously, turtles... they boggle my mind.  How the hell do they sunbathe for 5 hours straight without moving once?  Don't they get cramps??  I envy them.  The day I no longer get cramps of any sort will be a day for serious celebration.

I also like to sit and watch ants as they travel from some secret hiding place to the crumb that fell on floor.  They have the assembly line down pat.  Except they haven't outlined an emergency action plan (for when huge giants come and break their line by smashing them).  Humans are so cruel.

Whoa.  I just wrote an entry on turtles and ants, but can you blame me?  It's not like I encounter living creatures very often here in LA.  The last time I saw a bird here was in march.  Sad, really.

HI!!!!!!!!!!  I'm back from Taiwan FINALLY.  That was a really fun vacation...wow.  Shopping for cheap clothes, eating yummy/oily/bad-for-me food ALL day, massages, and facials... dang, my mom and I got it gooood.  Yes, it was a very feminine vacation, but oh, I LOVED IT.  hehe.

Something funny happened while I was there.  We had the same stewardess on the flight there and back, as well as the same bus driver on the drive from the airport and back.  How weird is that?!  And NO, there isn't only one bus driver.  So that was kind of cool... like one of those movies where something coincidental happens.

Now that I'm back, I have to get used to English again.  It's weird.  I should go read the dictionary or something.

So... these were my most interesting observations:

1. most Taiwanese people are CRAPPY drivers, I mean REALLY crappy-how there aren't run over bicyclists, scooter-ists, and pedestrians lying around all over the streets is beyond me.

2. they are obsessed with food-seriously, food EVERYWHERE and they eat nonstop and somehow continue to be emaciated.  My uncle and aunt asked me what I felt like eating about every 2 hours.

3. the burglars and taiwanese dogs are freaking smart.  My grandma's dog pees in the bathroom when there's no one to let it out of the house, yet it's never been house trained!

That's all I can think of for now.

Indian food is yummy!!

I'm so happy I got to hang out with Esther and Karin today.  Two babes and a delicious lunch.  What more could I ask for ?

So now that I know how many people have a xanga site, I have to jump on the bandwagon, too.  Maybe I can take a peek at the happenings in everyone's lives.

When will the madness end??!!! I can't wait until I'm done with law school applications.  I think I've lost at least a year of my life stressing out over it.  Hopefully, all my efforts will pay off.
